SPEED DATING IN XIRIVELLAND

Last class before Chritsmas holidays, our teacher proposed a new and exciting activity: "Speed dating in Xirivelland". For about three minutes, we had to sit down in pairs (woman and man) and ask to our couple about his/her hobbies, likes and dislikes, curiosities, future plans, so we had to try to know better the other person.

The atmosphere was funny. In the class there was lot of tables for two people with some chips in the middle. So, women kept at the tables with their drinks and men, every time a bell rang, they took their drink, stood up and changed to go to another talbe with other woman. Every couple asked questions to each other for three minutes.

We had a good time and I think that since we did that activity, we know better other classmates, and maybe some of them have started a romantic relationship.

There are some questions above I prepared for this activity.

  •  Have you ever been in a party where you don't know anyone? and what did you do?
  • When you go to a party, are you a funny and talkative person or are normally bored and don't speak with people that you don't know.
  • What do you prefer to do at weekends: to get up early and do sports or to go out at night and go to bed late.
  • What do you like doing in your free time: sports, cooking, reading a book, or going out with friends?
  •  Do you practice any kind of sports or you prefer watching sports on TV?
  •  In your job, do you have good ideas to improve your work or you don't think and do all your manager says to you?
Everyday, when you go to work, your home is tidy or is it a mess?

AN INTERESTING ADVICE

Do you like listening to music? Would you like to improve your English?
Well, I've found an interesting link that it can help us with both questions at the same time. It's "es.lyricstraining.com"

You can choose whatever kind of music you like: pop, rock, reggae, films. And you can also choose whatever age. Then, you select a song, the difficult level and, the game starts. To get lot of points you have to fill the gaps with some words from the song's lyrics you're listening to in that moment. If don't have enough time, you can replay the last words of the song.

Try it and you'll enjoy a lot. Sure

My first essay

Hi Tom,
Sorry for not writing earlier, but I've just foung a new job and I've been a bit busy.

First, I want to thank you and your family because you were very nice to me. I felt vey comfortable in your house and it was an incredible experience that I won't forget in my life.

Since I came back from UK, I've noticed that I'm not afraid of speaking English. In fact, last week I had an interview for a job in an important travel company and I got it.

By the way, my brother Juan would like to meet you. Your personalities are vey similar, both of you are funny, hard-working and really self-confident. Although my brother is sometines a bit bossy.

I promise to write to you as soon as I can to tell you how my new job is going.

Looking foward for hearing from you soon.
     Best wishes.

PD: I've attached the gazpacho recipe. You asked me wanted.
